A Clark County man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to sending a threatening e-mail message to Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard.
Bryan L. Boyer, 48, pleaded not guilty to one count of intimidating a public servant and one count of cyberstalking.
Trial was set for March 10 in Clark County Superior Court.
According to court documents, Boyer sent a threatening message to Pollard on Nov. 17.
Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Fairgrieve did not go into detail about the "disjointed" message allegedly sent by Boyer, but said it mentioned that Pollard would be easy to kill.
Fairgrieve said it was clear the message was sent to Pollard because he's the mayor.
"Mr. Boyer has some interesting perceptions about what the mayor can and cannot do," Fairgrieve said.
Boyer lives with his mother in the Sunnyside neighborhood, in the greater Orchards area.
After he was arrested Nov. 29, he said he'd been unemployed for the past two months but that he'd planned to resume working for a trucking company.
He has no prior criminal record.
While he's out on $25,000 bail, he's under a court order to remain at least 500 feet from Vancouver City Hall and from Pollard's residence.
Boyer did not speak at his brief hearing Tuesday. His court-appointed attorney, David Kurtz, entered the not-guilty plea on his behalf.
If convicted, Boyer could face up to three months in jail.

This really bothered me today, especially in light of my meeting with the Mayor. I did tell him how unacceptable I find this, along with how deeply disturbing this kind of behavior is overall. Good thing that someone intercepted this guy before he followed through on his threats...
