Linebacker Bart Scott and three other players on the Baltimore Ravens were fined by the NFL on Friday for arguing with game officials and complaining about calls during Monday's game against the New England Patriots.

Scott, who argued with officials and tossed a penalty flag into the stands, was fined $25,000. Cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle and receiver Derrick Mason each was fined $15,000 for critical remarks made after the game.

Rolle accused head linesman Phil McKinnely of repeatedly calling him "boy." Mike Pereira, the NFL vice president of officiating, acknowledged that Rolle and McKinnely argued during the game but said their verbal confrontation did not occur in the context that Rolle described.

Scott got off easy, considering the temper tantrum he threw during that game. he's lucky they didn't suspend him too...

The NFL is increasingly less tolerant about high-maintenance sports divas...and it's about time!!

"The NFL is increasingly less tolerant about high-maintenance sports divas...and it's about time!!"

Now if that could also be at the hollywood level too? Call it "High maintenance divas..."

Wonder what the difference is? 8-D

Seems to me the only difference is some one playing to get hit several times a day and the other running around and getting thrown in jail for drunk and disorderly..

I wanted to note that the NFL imposed a total of $80,000 worth of fines on these four players, and that the money is given to NFL Charities, so these are very real fines, and the League collects them in cash...

Well at least it goes to a worthy cause.

A lot of people aren't aware of that at all. I heard a comment over the weekend from someone who thought these fines were for face value only...and that's far from the truth. If these guys get a suspension, their pay is suspended as well, and that can get pretty painful for some hotshot player with a hot temper...

The NFL is very much aware of it's image and doesn't put up with anywhere near the nonsense the NBA does. You don't see any Dennis Rodmans around the NFL...

Yeah, there have been sone primadonnas in the 1980s and such but not a days with all the restrictions on end zone festivities or ceremonies like the old Tampa Bay slash, pretty much now most of that stuff is controlled.
