I've had enough of the stories about official misconduct on the front page of my morning paper, and it's time to find a way to forcibly remove Jim Dunn from the public teat in Olympia. I have never seen such a wasted political opportunity as the seat Jim Dunn occupies in the Statehouse.

Not being one to foist my problems off on others to solve for me, I have 2 proposed solutions to how we can replace Jim Dunn with a responsible and responsive Legislator.

Option 1. Help the Clark County Republicans find their balls to call in public for Dunn to step down immediately, and offer a viable candidate to replace him. My suggestion for that candidate is Vancouver City Councilman Tim Leavitt.

Option 2. Mount a recall petition against Dunn and seek to remove him that way. Of course there would have to be an election for a successor.

Personally, I like option number one. Tim Leavitt is imminently qualified to represent me in Olympia. It's not because I think I can easily manipulate him either, it's because he's a proven commodity with wide support in the Community, and I don't see how Dunn could possibly survive a serious challenge from a solid hard working man like Tim Leavitt.

Mounting a recall campaign would be tedious, time consuming, and has inherent limitations that would likely guarantee failure in the current political climate. As a last resort, if everything else failed, that might be a consideration, but it's a lot more expedient to build a bonfire under the collective asses of the Clark County Republicans, make them step up to the plate, and demonstrate a little bold leadership for once.

Comments and suggestions are most welcome on this, because something clearly needs to be done about Dunn, and I think Tim Leavitt is just the guy to do it.

My 1st question: Have you approached TIm and asked him?

Would you want him in the legislature going after Loot Rail funds?

Other than those two, I agree with you Chief, lets do some cleaning shall we?

The operative word here is "draft"...

Your interested in drafting this poor fellow? :-) I'll keep him on the city council for a bit longer.

How about going after Jeanne Stewart? She seems to be a vibrant and fighting spirit in similar line to your Chief?
