Bob: Your blog asserts: "Read daily and personally endorsed by the editor emeritus." While I am not named, the impression is that I do both. Both assertions are lies. Remove them immediately. --Tom Koenninger

Six Billion Dollars

That's the latest estimated pricetag I got yesterday from the Washington Department of Transportation Engineer at the Columbia Crossing Project openhouse.

The cost will be made up of three parts:

1. $1 Billion to $1.2 Billion for the Bridge itself.

2. Undetermined costs for the BRT or LRT Options (depends on which alignment and how many bells and whistles end up being attached...)

3.. Costs of the approaches to each side of the bridge to be the third part of the total price, because they are now recommending offically that the old bridge be removed. The option of leaving the old bridge for local access won't do, because they need to redo the ramps for SR-14, Mill Plain, Marine Drive, and Hayden Island...

Total price estimated to be between $2 Billion and $6 Billion, based on what we know right now.

I spent 2 hours there yesterday, and came up with a lot of information that the Columbian didn't bother to report. Please feel free to stop by and have a look for yourself.

You really need a new link Tom.

Start using this one from now on OK? It's at least dated this month.

How does "Reading the Columbian so that you don't have to" suit you??

Glad that you are such a fan!

And Tom, I changed the Headline this morning, specifically so I could properly review Tovarish Laird's fine piece; so don't think that your tardy e-mail influenced the appearances of this website one whit because it did not.

And I still believe that you personally read this site often. The fact that you disapprove, and insist on tellimg me so, is all the endorsement I will ever require.

And C.C.C.P. stands for "Columbian's Collection of Communitst Pundits" in case you didn't get that memo yet....

Welcome to Clarkblog.org!

Every time City Council's pet dog sends me one of these e-mails with your names on it, I will post the entire transcript word for word on my website, just like I did with this set.

Here is your personal link:

One of these days, one of you may learn to speak for yourself, instead of letting the Columbian do your talking for you.

Cheers, and GO Colts!!
