Was watching TVW, yes one of my favorite stations when you don't have to listen to hours of blather.

On it this evening was a Puget Sound Shark Nursery segment off Hood Canal. The sharks were near 500 lbs and grey/black. Such an interesting show and some thing I "NEVER" knew about...

Hoping to find more when I get a chance later tonight during one of my breaks from cleaning/sorting..

Its kind of like a place to younger sharks to be born and not rattled by problems.

According to the show on TVW, they are finding a lot of young juvenile sharks in that area instead of a mixture of adults and juveniles. That is why I called it a Shark Nursery instead of regular piece of saltwater place.

Ever heard Frank Zappa's "The Mud Shark" ??

It's my understanding that song was written under the influence of excessive quantities of red wine and downers in the Edgewater Motel in Seattle, and is a thinly-veiled account of how a particular young lady in Seattle gets off with the mud-shark, (aka dogfish), which can be caught by the enterprising roadies with a rod and line from the window of a certain motel, although there are no reports of what the preferred bait might be...

Mud, Mud, Mud Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhark....

;D

A mud shark aka dogfish from my personal memory isn't 500+ pounds? The fish I saw were huger than salmon..

Most salmon are bigger than your average dogfish?

Here is what a dogfish looks like and yes, they seem to have six gills and are nicely around 7 to 10 feet long.

I want you to know Chief, I am addicted to the "Pacific NW Technology Tour."

it ranks up there with your NASA videos stuff you love to talk about.
