Will this event be video taped?

I have a bunch of personal things going on during this time and can't make it. If it was on another time, I might have gone..

I think it's pretty casual and I doubt there will be any taping going on, unless one of the local TV media decides to cover Dino's remarks. Normally these kinds of political events get little attention, especially this early in the Gubner's race.

I plan to attend, and will report back, with pictures!

Lets hope he reports back soon and there are some nice things to say..

Yes, I'm back from hobnobbing with the once and future Gubnor...I didn;t take the camera, and it wouldn;t have done much good if I did, it was very crowded in there and hot to boot...

It's great to see Dino Rossi back in the saddle again! I'll do a better debrief later once I've had some dinner and relaxed a bit.

Party animal central?? Wish I could have gone, but because of a family situation I had to say behind and deal with a bunch of stuff.

Fill us up with what happened for those who were not able to attend because of previous commitments.. I wish this event had all of the time and information had been broadcasted earlier so I would have been able to plan for it.

First, I want to state for the benefit of the two malcontents who were standing in the rain holding the "IMPEACH!" signs, that was me in the red Saturn Ion who gave you the one-fingered salute on the way in to the parking lot...

::)

Nothing spectacular came of this event, other than I was honored to meet Dino Rossi and shake his hand. I got a few raised eyes for my casual attire from all of the suits that showed up, but I'm a bluejeans and S.L.U.T. teeshirt kind of guy... ;D

I bumped into Tim Leavitt there and we chatted briefly over the background noise. I think I rocked Tim back a bit when I told him I could easily see him behind that podium in 10 years or so, making his own run for the Governorship. I meant that, becasue I think Tim leavitt is exactly the kind of younger professional I would like to see take over from the failed and embarrassing politicians, the likes of Jim Dunn and others...

I bumped \into Brett Boger who was collecting the donations, and when he looked mine over, he was a bit startled to see who was handing him an envelope... ;D He actually asked me to say something nice about him, so here goes....Brett, you are a gentleman and a Scholar, and I was pleased to meet you and shake your hand tonight. Thank you for jumping in to help run the Rossi campaign here in the County.

;D

How's that?

Brett, I'm just a boy whose intentions are good...Lord!...Please don't let me be misunderstood....

Editing....I had a pair of ferrets come waltzing across my laptop while I was trying to post that...

:-) Sooooo What did Dino think of Columbia River Crossing?

Did you get him informed on the project or did Brent fill him in? (Isn't Brent one of the Republican leaders of Clark County?)

One of the people I "SERIOUSLY" think could be a good choice for governor and seems to be getting a heck of a lot of media attention over at State AG's office is Rob McKenna. In about 10 years or so, I personally wouldn't be surprised if he's head of the state party or some other head functionary of some sort.

Tim Leavitt would be a good choice for Governor. Though I do think he need a lot more face time in front of the camera and experience speaking in front of people. His voice sounds like he just got out of bed most of the time and has to think during when he speaks.

But with a little work speaking around Vancouver or becoming the local mayor and candidate, he might become a good possibility.

The difference though I think is he willing to take any family or a wife, subject them to the work schedule that is 10x worse as governor than he probably has now with PBS Engineering, some weekly visits with local folks and study time on issues that come before the council and the political blistering attacks that come from running a statewide campaign. Don't think he is going to want to suffer that hell?

Good questions all, and I'm sure anyone thinking about a race like that would cconsider those things. If Tim Leavitt were to make that decision, (and I have no reason to think that he is at this point) I have no doubt he would do an outstanding job.

Tim is exactly the kind of young professional that Vancouver needs in order to heal some of the long-festering political hatreds here in town. I like his common sense approach to things, along with his overall friendly demeanor. Tim never fails to shake my hand and talk to me, and I really appreciate and value that kind of attitude in my City Council Critters; that's what I am accustomed to in City Government, from other places I have lived.

That does not mean that I agree with everything Tim or anyone else on City Council does; and that is just fine too. Frankly, I would question the suitability for any public office of anyone who agreed with me all of the time on everything I think. Conversely, I would question my own veracity, as well as look like a Larry Patella clone if I were to denounce every politician simply becasue they did not agree with everything I said.

I think the key point to this tangent is recognizing and exerciizing political maturity in one's views. You take the losses, and relish the wins, and try not to be overly offensive about it...

Will Dino be coming to SW Washington or Vancouver any time soon Chief?
