Reversal of Fortune for Mukasey
Highlights Struggles on Security Issues

WASHINGTON -- The way in which Senate Democrats wavered and then consented to the confirmation of Michael B. Mukasey as attorney general reflects the party's broader struggle to make headway on its national-security agenda, despite President Bush's unpopularity.

On questions such as Mr. Mukasey's stance on waterboarding, warrantless wiretapping and the war in Iraq, Democrats have been stymied by Republicans in Congress and the White House. That has sparked frustration among supporters, especially those on the left, who anticipated that last year's congressional takeover would force some policy changes.

**SCHNIPP**

Heads are exploding all over the Left with this one....how dare W appoint another Attorney General!!...

;D

Look at it this way.. They'll get to choose their top pick in 16 months, they can stop blowing their heads off and whining?

That is the dirty little secret, isn't it?? Despite the best efforts of people like Dennis "The menace" Kucinich, George W. Bush won't leave office one minute before High Noon on Janusary 20, 2009.

I am not honestly listening to Dennis too much because he's not facing reality.

Do you think the world would let Dennis get away with half the ideas he's saying? The presidential hopefuls Gravel and Kucinich are basically saying a lot of things that can't be fulfilled in any sense or form at the federal level and they should KNOW that.

The American economy is based on a Global system and has been that way since World War 2. Do you think the US isn't going to get screwed if any of those two's policies actually come into being?

Now I am not saying that the some of the republican candidates aren't any better, but those two seem to live in a carousel of fantasy than any reality that I know of.
