There is an article in the morning paper about the oldest church possibly in the metro area started in 1885 in Downtown Vancouver thats starting a 2 million dollar restoration effort to clean up the church, fix leaks and try to restore some semblance of beauty to it. Most Catholic Church and other church restorations I have seen are usually 10x as much.

So its going to be interesting to see what they did with Mother Joseph's church she built...

The outside of the building was restored a few years ago... I'm thinking with all the brickwork and roofing that was probably the more expensive part of the restoration. It's a beautiful building by the way, very striking. I used to have a great picture of it until a hard drive crash a number of years ago.

I've been inside it many times, The inside is a treasure as much as the outside is.

Is one of the few icons I love going by when I ride the bus into the Downtown when I get a chance to that way for some thing.
