In My Opinion
Date: October 19th, 2007
Pass this on:
Other than Raising taxes and spending our hard earned dollars on Boondoggles the Current Council hs done very little to provide for the needs of Vancouver's Citizens. It is time for a Change. Read ON.
Remember the article that Gang Violence is about to Explode in Vancouver/Clark County. If you need another reason to vote out the incumbents read below. We have just been informed that
It will cost approximately $800,000 to get the Gang Task Force back in operation. This was per the Chief of Police, C. Cook. Why are our
Incumbent Council Members tying the Police & Fire Dept. hands. Shouldn’t they be a little higher up in the Priority list? (Oops, they (the Current Council) apparently have not yet prioritized spending.
Council should be making sure that Police and Fire services have a proper and just budget before building Bridges to Nowhere across Highway 14, Hotels and Convention centers, parking garages or giving away public property, authorizing legal Kickback and competing with private industry.
We need to Elect New Council Members who should be given the opportunity to PRIORITIZE SPENDING. A task Current Council Members cannot seem to get the hang of. A City of our size deserves no less. Citizens pay their hard-earned tax dollars for High Priority items such as Police and Fire Services. Shouldn't those elected to represent us make sure we (NOT DEVELOPERS) get what we pay for. A dedicated Police & Fire budget would be a good PLACE TO START PRIORITIZING.
When you get your ballot vote for Charlie Stemper, Pat Campbell, and David Kallstrom for City Council.
Don't re-elect those whose sole solution to everything is "LET’S RAISE TAXES.
VOTE FOR:
CHARLIE STEMPER, PAT CAMPBELL, AND DAVID KALLSTROM.
And, after attending the debate between Arch Miller and Jerry Oliver last night there is no doubt in my mind that Arch SHOULD NOT, REPEAT SHOULD NOT be re-elected. Having learned nothing from his failed attempt to raise our property Taxes 132% without a vote of the people, he is now working on another Secret Plan that he calls B. He will not however, share Plan B with the voters.
When will he, other commissioners and Larry Paulson, realize that deals like the IDD Levy, that give the appearance of being conducted in the proverbial smoked filled back room does not set well with the Voters. But then after 18 years in office one starts to believe their own Press Releases.
JERRY OLIVER IS BY FAR THE BEST CHOICE. He will return to the Port Commission, the Trust, Vision and Leadership that Mr. Miller has with his secret plans, squandered.

Larry, if anyone within 1,000 miles believes too much of their own press, it's you.
