Well boys and gals this should tell you something!! That is double what we have used in the past due to the fact that my neighbors' refuse to mow their yards. I can't get over all the sprouting weeds we had to deal with this year. I don't like to use chemicals but they are becoming useful here!!

Is that an 8 ounch bottle of rounding up the neighbors and having them pull all of her weeds all year long?

Not sure why she is putting up so much roundup.. WIll it kill the area she applies it to for many years?

Chief, that would be the $19.99 concentrated bottle of the best weed killer!! Like I state that is double what we normally buy to kill weeds.
One friend was shocked to find weeds this year and was told how many bottles as we kept count. She also looked across the yard at the mess
on 4 sides and said keep spraying!! One neighbor mowed his yard 3 times in 9 months so you know what kind of weeds I am killing. The thistle was so bad!!

Buff, Round up is a weed killer that when it touches something will kill it from the top down. It doesn't sterilize the ground like let's say vinegar of which we use in the gravel to keep them weed free!! I have to many tropicals to use that in the flower beds.

OIC!

My next door neigbor had a thistle last year that was taller than my fence...for whatever reason he finally came to Jesus this year and redid his whole lawn and has kept it cleaned up since. We were collectively hoping to see the For Sale sign go up, but no dice so far...

That is still one hell of a lot of Roundup. I'd stop worrying about the hazards at Camp Bonneville, and start worrying about the contamination in the soil a little closer to home...

karma: I agree with Chief, that seems like an excessive amount of Rounder-s UP (yes this is intended..) May be a little bit less to keep those tropical happy?

How about offer one year free treatment of Rounder's Up to those neighbors to help them cure your problem? (And I know they'll never change..)

So now where do I go to get a weed free lawn? Aww yes, go see karma for her neighbors..

Buff, when you have a business that deals with plants the goal is weed free and show off the beauty of the plants not the weeds. I have never had the weed problem like this year and everyone that has tours noted this but again they also noted the messes around us. I fear that landownership here in Clark County is lacking and to have to turn these folk in to Code enforcement on a regular bases isn't helping the problem, they are just plain lazy. I won't offer to help them out as I'd end up doing all the work at my expense, god knows I have offered helping in the past to have it trashed with them not taking care of what was done. I take great pride on where I live and it's a shame others don't do the same. You can only go so far to set the standards or an example?? Hey, it's how chemical are used and do you honestly think a green person would harm the enviroment? One needs to educate oneself on the use of chemicals and not fly by the seat of their pants.

And exactly what is your interest in the seat of my pants??!!

;D

Its a smart thing to actually read the label and go on to the internet and learn how to apply that chemical, especially when the effects of roundup are huge on the plants it take out.

But I am concerned about Chief's Mantra when he keeps Going "Eight bottles of Round-up on the lawn, 8 more bottles of Round-up on the Lawn.." (to the sound of 99 beers on the wall, 99 bottle of beer, take one down, pass it around, 99 beers on the wall.)

No Chief, I don't think Karma was interested in the seat of your pants... Though she might have been interested in giving you a swift kick if you didn't help her with new ideas for neighbor remediation..

So Chief, are you saying you fly by the seat of your pants??

Buff if you see my yard you would know we are an educated Round up user and do not sterilze the ground as you never know what might get planted and where here. We haven't runned out of planting space yet but getting close! This is the time of year to tear out more grass and plant more plants!!

Karma, if you read 1/2 of Chief's Bullwinkle comments and most of his posts here that he flies most parts of his life by the seat of his pants.

Also I seen a lot of your pictures here and your right, you'd have to be one smart cookie of Round-up to keep the yard looking as fresh as you make it out to be. If you were overdoing it, it would look like your neighbors lawns.

Just a side note, did you hear or see on the news about Al's Garden Center took significant damage in their year round green houses in Hubbard?

Yep and that is why we redid outs and so far so good!

Well I'll soon be waiting for your garden pics of your cleaned up beds after you have had a chance to get some rest?

Buff, I have a couple landscaping companies that check us out on a regular bases. It was funny to see them swing by the other day and there is nothing out front so to speak about, we have pretty much either cut it down, toss in the greenhouses or in the livingroom. If you see it now and them look at in full bloom, one just has to wonder where it all goes? Sorry not from the roof shots of the yard this season.

Is one of those companies the photog from the local rag and tag force looking for a free picture from your yard?

Why would the landscape people want to come over your place? Are you sure you SHOULDN'T be charging drive-by admission for these lookieloos?

You must have an impressive enterage if you have the Vancouver's finest landscaper hitting your yard with some frequency. Word must have spread fast...

Like I said they come on a regular bases and I live at the end lane, so funny to watch them come in from the south. Down the end of the lane and then they travel north, don't klnow why??
