In the past week, clarkblog.org has come under assault from an aggressive Asian advertizing group, who has flooded the site with phony registrations, that have attached unauthorized data to the site, as well as conducted clumsy attempts at Commercial Advertizing here. In short, someone with no interest in Clark County Washington is attempting to hijack bandwidth from the site.
Clarkblog was set up initally to provide the widest possible access to information for residents of this County. It is indeed unfortunate that our openness is being taken advantage of, and that it leaves the Clarkblog.org Principals no choice but to tighten site security.
Effective immediately, all new registrations to www.clarkblog.org, will have to be approved by me personally, before the account will be activated. In the past we have allowed immediate signups, and the abuse of that priviledge is what has forced us to take this action.
Members who are already signed up here will not be affected.
