Well! We are going to see what kind of bad-ass gunfighter Russell Crowe makes. This re-make of the classic Western opens at Cinetopia tonight, and the Oregonian gave it a B+....that likely means that this is the sneaker hit of the summer...

I'll letcha know...

It's not bad...they used a lot of ammunition in this one. Christian Bale does a good job of getting the hell repeatedly kicked out of him. Good cast, and it's the best western since "Unforgiven".

They had a poster in the lobby of Cinetopia for Johnny Depp's new movie coming in December..."Sweeney Todd". If you're familiar with the mad barber, you know this is the perfect role for Depp; I think it's a Tim Burton film, and that means music by Danny Elfman... Something to look forward to on the big screen for Christmas...

I saw the trailer for "Beowulf" for the second time, and it looks heavily animated, including what you might think is live action. I can't tell if this is another graphic comic style movie like "300" or an honest attempt at the Beowulf legends. In any case it also features Angelina Jolie and her large, American....lips ;D as the witch. I need to brush up on Beowulf...time for a run to Powells...

And in case you were wondering what ever happened to Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element) she was out making a third "Resident Evil" movie...that's right, a third movie that was based on a video game. It looks like Jodie Foster is re-doing Charles Bronson's "Death Wish" movie from the looks of that trailer too...

In other words, there appears to be plenty to wait for until the movies hit Starz for free....

;D

Didn't Danny Elfman do a lot of scores for Simpsons movies or television?

Sounds like this movie is a little bit over promised and might be a good rental from netflix/blockbuster. Personally, I am one of the younger generation that loves the old 50-70s Westerns... Most of the remake crap just can't hold a candle to it.

Really sick of the remakes of a lot of movies, they simple are just really terrible and unwatchable.

Wish they would put new storylines up in movies instead of the repetitive remakes.
