That's life out in the County, right?

Growing up my best friend had one of these sitting in front of his house for years and years and years. My parents live out in the Felida area and their neighbors drive school buses and leave them parked all over during the school day. Heck, even here in the city, my neighbor has a motor home and a box truck which occasionally get parked on the street for a week or so at a time.

It's just part of life with neighbors I guess.

It's just boggles the mind if you or I did it we would get a ticket. No respect for their neighborhood or the property values??? What about the CC&Rs that no one abides by either??? Whom cares or should court papers be filed for harrassment?? Why can't folks abide by the laws or is it the leadership doesn't care so why should we??? Then why make laws if they aren't going to be enforced???

Personally, I'd start by putting the "for Sale" sign on the trailer, along with a nothe that said "Enquire Within", and than progress to putting the sign in their front yard.

It's either that, or the ripe roadkill in the glovebox...do you know how long the smell of dead skunk can linger in upholstery??

:-) ohh when one gets mad or angry, creative juices start flying..

Nice idea Chief!

Karma: if you look at today's society, three quarters of it don't give a flying leap about CC&Rs or any other laws or rules.

My brother has run his own autobody shop since forever, and the things he's seen done to cars is simply amaxing in the creativity. Payback really can be a son-of-a-bitch to the right person, and you would not believe the things people will do to other people's cars, for whatever reason. Sometimes it just don't pay to piss of the right person...

Not that I support any such thing myself....

Did you learn some evil lessons from your brother in case of problems Chief?

He did show me a thing or two about cars that I was not aware of, yes. He also demonstrated some of the finer high speed handling characteristics of early model Fiat Spyders that flat out amazed me at the time....Frankly it's a wonder either of us survived our teenage years...

I love to read stories about people who learn new and intriguing ideas, especially in the teen years. You hear so very little of that now. The kids now a days don't use original parts to soup up their cars, they just throw money at them and now the race cars going down McGillivray are probably some 100K souped up tin cans that aren't worth my time to even look at, because I know some professional mechanic built it for some kid that does not have the superior brain power to know how to handle such power in their hands or have the respect for a car and what it can do.

Is McGillivray still a racing strip for teenagers or did they finally give that up?

Karma, keep up that sun shine. I want to enjoy a couple more weeks of 80s before the weather turns to its fall and winter routine.

MCGillvry has the most "Public Monuments" per mile, (those being Stop Signs, and Speed Limit signs) than most anywhere in Vancouver. I hesitated at a stopsign just yesterday, and good thing too, because some guy in a VW ran his, and didn't even slow down. People rush the crosswalks constantly, and I swear only 1 car in 10 obeys the speed limit.

Portland's motorcycle Cops were out doing some serious speed enforcement yesterday on I-205 and I-5. We had to run out to West Lynn to a party, and they had one MC Cop in the bike lane on the Glen Jackson bridge with a radar gun, and at least six chase bikes pulling people over. Coming home, they wer doing the same thing in the Terwilliger Curves on I-5. Effective as hell, and they were writing double tickets in the construction zones...those are expensive!

I live right near 112th Avenue between 28th and Fourth Plain. Even with these lights, they do speed in the straight aways here and make nice turns right on 49th street.. This area has a nice Park and Drug plan if you ever need some special meth, cocaine and branded marijuana roles.

Thought I do love your suggestion that McG. has a nice amount of scenic and historic markers aka Stop signs and roadway improvements to slow people down.. But they are not really working are they? Do believe they need a couple 1000 dollar stickets that can't be bargained down to take care of the speed racers and people not obeying the stop signs..

Maybe some car crushings after the judicial process has taken its course or tow aways on the spot if your caught speed racing? Might add that one to the people who don't obey stop signs that just basically do a slow rolling stops to stop signs than doing a complete stop.

Though Karma does need help with a couple of her neighbors..

Karma,

Chief made a good point. Have you tried undertire road-suprise that irkles up into the engine block. When your neighbor starts up that engine on the bus or tries to take that camper out for one last hurrah Summer vacation, they might not want to bring back?
