I'm adding a new discussion room here today, and providing the results of a week's worth of researching, not to mention paying some cold hard cash to the columbian for the privilege. If nothing proves to you I take this seriously, the fact I would give the columbian more than fifty cents a day for a copy of the paper should convince you something is up.

I'm tired of hearing Patella rant about the so-called "People's Hilton", and decrying what a shame it is that the damned thing even exists, especially when I know that if it were not for Patella, there might well not be a :People's Hilton". In fact, if Larry Patella had listened to anyone's voice besides his own, he and his friends might not have lost $60,000 in legal fees to defend the lawsuit the City of Vancouver rightly brought against them.....but there is a lot more to the story than that.

Please read on, and then, we can talk.

Stout Hearts!!

Sounds like you'd love to have a nice lovely chat with him (ahem debate) on CVTV about his whiny behavior?

If I thought it would do one bit of good, I would. What amazes me is that there are at least 2 people who still blindly listen to every utterance of this cranky old fart, even though they both had to cough up $10,000 to pay thier share of this lawsuit! Here it is six years later, and he is carrying on about the Hilton like this lawsuit, and his three previous petition drives never happened!

The truth is, the Superior Court ruled against him twice on this matter. Larry Patella has not only had his day in court, he has had 2 days in court, and he got his ass handed to him both times. There was no third day in court because he abandoned the petition drive before the City could sue him again.

I would be happy to take him on point by point, but I shouldn't have to. I would hope there would be at least one City Council candidate who would challenge him on some of his lies and distortion, but it appears that the challengers all want and need Patella and his acolyte's votes too badly to have the stones to stand up and challenge him.

I'm not opposed to having new blood on City Council, but unless you can demonstrate that you will do something better for the Community than the guy who is in there, you will have a very tough time earning my vote.

I am convincible; but I am not running anyone's campaign for them, and I have been abundantly clear about what I am looking for from City Council.

I want to see some new blood that is "really" qualified in my opinion to be on the city council and other local elections.

It should be abundantly clear what I value and what are important from my posts here.

Over the past couple months, the posts here have gotten me to do more research into the County/City incorporation, how the governments work, basic statistics of financials and how things work.

Really surprised that the City has not sued Larry for Slander and defamation, along with an order that he cannot keep spouting his idiocy without proof?
