Buff, just halfway done with the bottom ones and then I'll be working on the top ones which should be fun!! No drawers!! This makes for a big change in the kitchen, I might have to start thinking about painting the inside then??

Cool. Stripping paint off things isn't my idea of what I want to spend my time on. (even the slightest second.)

But doesn't that lime green just make ya sick?

Waterbuffalo

No, lime green does not sicken me.. Used to live in a house as a kid with that awful green shag carpet until became an adult at 18 and moved out.

So a little green coloring or paint isn't too bad.

The kitchen is all stripped and DH has decided that the Master Bathroom paint needs to come off so that will take a few days. Then there is all the sanding and more fun!! Gosh I thought my days as a stripper was coming to a close!! ;)

Wish you the best on inhalin' the fumes over the next week or two as you work on the stripping paint project part 2: the evil bedroom project.

All stripped and off to do the sanding, I think I should sand over by the barking dogs? What ya think?

Have fun with sanding... Where are these barking dogs you proposed to sand over?

Do you have a neighborhood dog that is a nuisance?

WB, for 2 years now!! More can be stated on this dog, it's the same family that drives the bus, motorhome and they love to harrass us.

What are the barking ordinances for Clark County?

I think that its 10 minutes single incident or coninuous separate incidences for 30 minutes before one faces some type of enforcement action in Vancouver.

WB, I have had the County's Animal Control and Sheriff Deputies here and they both have seen and heard this dog. He really didn't like the officiers at all!! Then this weekend the neighbor to the north of us both tried to trim some of his trees and this dog went off all the time. I decided to take the sanding outside for Sunday as I couldn't use the garage anymore and after a while the dog dicided he couldn't keep up and stopped barking. It's a great place to sand!!! We know it's not the dog's fault it's how and why it was trained as they snicker over the back fence as they yell for it to stop barking.

So lack of enforcement is the problem in this situation? hmm

Time for a change in venue or problems solving Chief style.

I just love my sander and it works great!! >:D

Like fingers on a chalkboard to a teacher? As long as it works, it will keep the poach quiet.

Once you stop, he/she'll be yelping again..

Eventually the dog will learn to avoid the noise and you'll have the barking problem as soon as you stop it.

Time for an update!! Stripping is completed, about a couple days of sanding left and the staining started this past weekend! We started out with a lite color called caffe latte but it was to pink and well if you live in a household of males that isn't the color they want to live with, right males?
So we decided to take the other other direction and head for the sangria red, a rich red wine color!! DS choice and I really didn't care, just want my kitchen back at this point!! Yes the next project is painting the inside once the kitchen is back to normal. Don't ya just love how projects snowball?

If it's pink, maybe briung over that horrid neighbor over for a free cabinet viewing, redneck style?

Buff, I wouldn't waste my time on them!! None of them know how to take care of their property and should live in a apt!! Ya you heard that right, if you don't have time to take care of what you have and respect your neighbors' property, you should live in an apt. We are hearing the hums of a generator again.

Do you still get to hear the "Wheels on the bus go round and round?"

karma

Oh yea, the wheel on the windsock go round and round, see I told ya they were hillbillies!!

How is the construction project going to look this weekend?

karma
10-04-2007, 04:01 PM
Inside the project is completed, still sanding the groves to remove the last of the paint. My guys got me a dremel!! >:D Then to stain them and we will have that completed in time to start painting the inside of the house. That's a piece of cake and I can do that in my sleep.

Let's see, painted the outside of the house, the fence, the shed, stained the deck, swingset and eagles'nest, stripped the kitchen & bathroom cabinets and stained them in just under 3 months. Not bad for someone retired?? Next is the brug house redo so that they can all fit.

Wonder if a rented paint sprayer is a good thing to do speed painting?

WTG on all the construction, stripping and painting work..

Buff, you are telling an artist to rent a paint sprayer?? For why? It give me great pleasure to use my artistic talent to blend wood or metal and paint together in a way you won't see a paint brush stroke!!

Waterbuffalo

oh? I thought you might be the type that likes to get the stuff done with speed.

Sorry for the bad assumption.
