My favorite Datura is back for the year, whom said it was an annual?? This is the one we are have been crossing with the Brugmansia and got the Albino from last year. They say it can't be done, must of been beginners luck?? Isn't she so pretty?? She smells of peanutbutter.

Hey Chief, so glad you asked. Our Datura Missouri Marble is now 6 years old and Daturas are not known to come back, basically they are classified as an annual. But we have proven them wrong on this one!! This is also the one we crossed with the Brugmansia and got the albino last year.
She has to be the favorite of all the Daturas we grow, this year we are growing 7 varieties. She is in the solanaceae family and don't believe what the master gardener wrote for the Columbian a year ago. I'm still awaiting for they to correct their errors on Datura and Brugmansia, of which we specialize in. This one has been loaded with buds and blooms for over 3 months and will continue until frost. She is really hard to find!! Blooms are 6" X 6" X 10" and has a slight purple tint to the white. I will state all parts of both Daturas and Brugmansias are poisonous and need to be handled with care or if you are going to purchase there are certain things one needs to know before growing them. Daturas and Brugmansia used to be classified together but if you look at them they are totally different and their growing conditions are not the same. Education on these needs to be done but again some Master Gardeners have no clue and what can one say??? We grow hundreds of species of plants and well worth the trip out to see karma's gardens, where we can walk you through and answer your questions on a one to one bases.
