Huckabee talked to Tim Russert yesterday on MTP, about how when he was in College, the only appliance they were allowed to have was a popcorn popper; so he and his friends used to fry squirrels on one in their dorm rooms...

Huck said it didn't taste too good, so I figured some culinary advice was in order...

Heck ya could of tossed it all in your Magic Bullet and pop it is couple times!! It tastes like chicken and ya know no one would know the difference! Back in the days when you could shoot the little darlin' if would take about a dozen to feed a family of 10!

How about a "Free Range Roast?" Get an open fire pit with a few darlings cooking on a hand cranked rotisserie. Wonder what they would taste like...

Roasted up right, they would be pretty tasty. I would recommend catching some of the drippings and squirrel fat to butter some cornbread with...

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

Sorry but I live in Peta Central.. No killing of squirrels here. Thought you might go talk to Larry over at Patella political protestation inc. to ask HIM for some fine and mighty ideas on the subject..

I was raised on this and again no matter how you cook it, it tastes the same! Just as gamey as the other creature of the wild!!
Chief, I would rather put other stuff on my cornbread!! Why waste a good piece of that with drippings?

In honor of Governor Sarah Palin's selection as the Republican candidate for the Vice Presidency of the US, I though it appropriate to bump this thread back to the top, and sticky it.

If this lady isn't a Palin voter I don't know who is...

By the way....for a nice Northwest recipe touch....try adding toasted hazelnuts instead of pecans...

oh nos... You had to bring this one up did you not? <grin..>

Yeah, she would be a sarah palin supporter. If she isn't a lot of people would be eating her pecan squirrel...

Here's a recipe for those of you who are looking for an unusual Thanksgiving side dish, or as a substitute for those who just don't like turkey...
