Bee Balm!!

With the heat on at last, my bee balm is in full riot. The hummers haven't found it yet, but it won't be long....those yellow flowers a fern like foliage in the back is fennel in full bloom too.

Isn't that Queen Anne's Lace?? A member of the Parsley family? Did you know it comes in Red too?

Nope, is fennel. they are the same family though, (I think dill is in there too) but that fennel has been there for five years now...

Did you ever have sauteed fennel bulb?? Cut it in half, and saute with a little olive oil until the flesh is nicely browned....it's sweet, and goes well with a little vinaigrette drizzled on it...
