I have heard through the grapevine that America's The 'Couv Symphony Orchestra is about to release their first CD collection of their rendition of a number of the Great Masters' Works. I understand that this group has had the quiet support and endorsement of Hizzonor for some time now, and have worked diligently toward the day when thy could finally produce their first recording, and begin to earn some of the money they need to stay in existence.
I cannot say any more than that right now, on the request of my source, but I understand that this disc will be available soon for a very reasonable price, with all proceeds to go toward The America's The 'Couv Symphony Orchestra.
Until I heard about this disc, I wasn't aware that we had a Symphony Orchestra here in America's The 'Couv!

It's just amazing! I posted this notice just a little while ago, and a freind of mine just sent me a preview from the upcoming release from America's The 'Couv Symphony Orchestra!
This is their rendition of "The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies" from "The Nutcracker", and was apparently recorded live in the Great Room of the Marshall House at the Historic Reserve; which accounts for the unique acoustics of this recording.
Turn it up!

And we also have this, that will be included in the America's The 'Couv Symphony Orchestra's Christmas Hits release that will come out later this year. My source tells me that this was a collaboratiive effort between the Symphony and the Ester Short Methadonia Community Choir, who are featured on this recording.
They recorded this inside of a hangar at Pearson Air Park, because the Marshall House was too crowded for the Orchestra and Choir combined.
Turn it up!

bttt....
I don't know how I missed it earlier, but I understand that America's The 'Couv Symphony Orchestra and Choir are opening their 2007 Season this evening at Pearson's Air Park's Main Hangar, so I thought we should review the highlights from last year again...
Still no word on the release date for that CD...
Enjoy!

Don't we have several choirs and symphonic renditions in Vancouver and Clark County?
Yes, our beloved mayor loves this Vancouver Symphony and pushes it any time he can. Do believe its #3 on Christmas and Wish List. Have to bash my head to remember the other names of the Clark County Choirs and symphonies (not just the Vancouver ones''.) Guess I am going to have do some googlin'..
