A Clark County judge sent Scott Hanson to jail for seven days Thursday after the former Ridgefield city councilman and building contractor tested positive for cocaine for a second time.

Hanson, awaiting trial on cocaine possession charges, said he plans to enter an in-patient drug rehabilitation program in Clark County after he completes his week-long jail stay. Superior Court Judge Robert A. Lewis warned him than another violation would bring a harsher response from the court.

“If you use illegal substances again while this case is pending,” Lewis said, peering over his reading glasses, “you will go to jail until this case is resolved. Is that clear enough for you?”

Hanson nodded silently in understanding.

Hanson, 47, faces cocaine possession charges for a pipe found in his jacket pocket after a Dec. 7 crash on Interstate 5. He resigned from the city council five days later.

Hanson needs a feo months in the slammer, not just 7 days. The guy is a reprobate and I hope the Court continues to stick his ass in jail every chance they get.
