Just a fair warning with the wind tonight howling up here in Bellingham, be careful over there.. And do not take any free flights over the ocean..

Rule #1: Be very sure of your anchor.

The only thing worse than a heavy kite line being dragged through town, is if there's an iron stake attached to the end of it...

Sounds like some thing that could rip power lines down. Or some thing that could rip things into new places.

Honestly, from what you told me in the past, this is NOT a kids sport and should not be handled as such. Let the pros do it that both have the knowledge and willing to take the risks handle it. Plus are willing to have basic insurance or some other thing cover some thing when you hear the words, "oops!" or " OH NO!"

All of my big kites carry a "Responsible Adult" warning on them, and they cost enough that idiots who have no business flying them cannot afford them in the first place...

Ahh... So the cost and warning labels will prevent the uninitiated from doing it? Well I will just allow the pros to handle it and watch from afar.

The festival opens today at Long Beach Washington, and with the stormy weather moving in, there ought to be some great wind for a number of the competitions.

Runs through next Sunday, and it's within a reasonable day trip distance from here.

We're heading up to Long beach tomorrow to fly the sleds and as much line laundry as possible. Pictures to follow, wind permitting...
