From Today's Daily Insider:

Future of Minnehaha roads
to be discussed at open house

The Vancouver Planning Department and Clark County Community Planning are discussing future plans for Minnehaha streets, which will become the basis for changes in the county’s Comprehensive Growth Plan for transportation.

The area involved is north of Highway 550, south of Minnehaha Street, between St. John’s Road and Andresen Road.

An open house to gain public input and answer questions is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the county operations center, 4700 NE 78th Street.

This may be a good thing to go see and watch, ask questions and etc.

The area is primed, pimped up and with roses going to move in the next ten years or so into the City of Vancouver. This meeting will be about the streets and major thoroughfares through this area. (Currently Clark County.)

Might be interesting to see what Clark County has planned? May be this might be a new corridor to the north for buses or other transit across the lower part of the county?

Guess I have a lot of interesting questions.....

Also might want to add some of our usual suspects might want to attend this function to find out what transportation goals are going to try to be achieved in this area as the UGA for the city of Vancouver will be expanded over the next ten to twenty years.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with, how much it will cost and the methods of paying for it all.

Developing...

Some thing just came to my mind.

Could Vancouver and Clark County be building out the county like an A-frame with the City being the bottom part first. Cascade being part of the east side and downtown Vancouver being the lower part with the highest density in Clark County? With the upper parts near 134th street being the icing on the cupcake with a cherry on top..

The lower parts of the cake are getting most of the political focus and attention while the upper parts are being added layer by layer with all the necessary comprehensive master plans, concurrency and traffic studies, development plans and reviews, design reviews for buildings and any other reviews for environmental needs?

The top of that Cherry would be Casino area or Woodland....
