Now I know that the election is on when people start riipping down, damaging or destroying campaign signs.

Why do people have to be so Cheap, deceitful, unhonorable and immature to do such a thing.

Here is the KOIN 6 News report:

I don't know what it is that convinces people that it is OK to destroy these signs, but that is not supposed to be the way we do business in a free country!

Like it or not people, campaign signs are a legal and protected form of "FREE SPEECH" and anyone who is destroying these signs ought to be held accountable.

Those big 4 x 8 signs cost a small fortune each, and it isn't fair for anyone's campaign to have to rplace their perfectly legal signs on a regular basis.

The columbian has continued to make a big deal about the James Campaign, and the money he has raised. Couple that along with hard feelings from the ever-diminishing cadre of hard-core Jim Dunn fans, and I can see why he is having these problems and not anyone else.

It just galls me that some one would stupe so low to go after some one's political signs?

If its another candidate, why not put up some cloth based signs like a white sheet? Would that not get noticed than a blue, yellow, green or red contrasting political signs?

Who ever is doing this ought to caught and made an example of by our local media.. Don't care if that person is related to any campaign or not. As Chief has said and I totally agree, replacing those huge signs are a small fortune. Why are we continuing to put up with such chicanery?

There has been a great deal of vandalism going around in Vancouver lately, so this could be kids instead of political rivals. I would like to believe that the Candidates themselves are above this kind of thing...

Similar situation up here. Kids have nothing to do, so they find the most useless thing thing they can do.. Hopefully who ever is doing that is going to be caught.

And also hope that there is no truth to candidates doing this.

The candidates all know the rules and respect each other's signs. The only person I have ever known to accuse another candidate of something like this was Charlie Stemper. If the wind blew hard the night before, the next morning Charlie would be out with an e-mail accusing Larry Smith of systematically going around town tearing down poor Charlie's signs.

Stuff and nonsense.

I would like one of these sign vandals to be caught red-handed though...

:-) And we finally can have "NewsFlash at 11pm" about sign stealers? Oh that would be so much fun to catch one of them in the act.

I think its just a few individuals who have no respect for the institution of our government or how things run. Or it could be just some vandals that have too much time on their hands at 3am (or whatever time it happens.)

And the cost of those signs if damaged, that's why I am kind of riled up about it. Its draining this campaign coffers each time it happens. With this campaign I'm suspecting is going to be one of the costliest in Clark County? The other one could be Vanessa vs. Jamie might be another?

To rip those signs is going to cost a small fortune and could turn the general election into a one sided contest.

Just thought I'd add a side note here to this thread. If people have not seen the columbia river crossing video link I posted a day or two ago that shows a few things, please go to this reference link and then off there is the direct link to the Oregonlive.com video of the columbia river crossing...
