Chief Cook spoke to the council about the basics of the program.. Its sounds like a wonderful program.

Some of the things said from the graduates that this helpe create a "sense of ownership" in the community.

To become part of this program, must be 21 years old, application, background check and interview with one of the neighborhood patrol officers? The next training will begin in October. Will last 5 weeks, 3 hours a week + 1 week of a CPR training.

The deadline for the application is August 15th. So if your interested, contact the Vancouver Police Department, Chief Cook, one of the City Council members to be forwarded to the appropriate person.

They said the next training session will have 15 to 20 people.

Here is a web site link to basically what I heard on the above video. (Darn the video is only 30 minutes long. Watch it?)

This will be an observation platform only.. There will be no wild eyed people not being smart doing this. So if your interested or maybe some one who might please give VPD a call.

Thanks Chief Cook for bringing some thing good to this community.
