It's time to take the plunge and find a chipper shredder. With all of the composting that I do, it's time to pick one up.
I've been up on Craigs List this morning and found three ads....the best one is for a 6.5 HP Troybilt Chipper for $300 bucks. I think I may talk him down a bit on it, because I really want another Troybilt machine. I think I can fit it into my garden shed easily enough for storage, but I will have to consider how to best use it this fall when the leaves start coming in. I may have to devise some sort of support for it on the end of the compost pile so we can shred right into the composting bin...
Here's the pic that came with the ad...it's a nice machine!! Not sure of the model number yet...

With a chipper, I could easily reduce the amount of yard debris I send to the landfill by half....shredding it small enough is the key to composting it properly...
