Clark County Republicans lose a very Dear Friend.

I received this notice via e-mail from the Clark County Republican Party.

Dear Friends,

The Clark County Republican Party has lost a dear friend and family member. James Bodell died from a sudden heart attack on Monday evening, July 14, 2008. He was 28. James passed the Washington State Bar Examination late last year. He served as a member of the Clark County Republican Party Executive Board for several years, and was hired in June by the Washington State Republican Party as the Southwest Washington Field Director for Victory 2008. James was a wonderful young man, a great board member, and fully committed to our Republican principles. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bodell family.”

Jim Bodell was the local Chair of the Mitt Romney Campaign, and I met him a couple of times at different events. He was also a member of Clarkblog.org under the name of "Fisticuffs". We will certainly miss his company here, and my deepest condolences go out to Jim's family and friends.

Jim Bodell was one of the young Republicans here in the County that give me great hope for the future. I'm just shocked that he apparently had a fatal heart attack at such a young age.

I will also miss his Leadership.

And there are some young Republicans and Democrats from Clark County I'm looking at right now that give me hope for the future.

Its a sad loss that a budding person died so young.

Thank you for allowing him to be a part of your family there. He accomplished much in his 24 years and we are grateful that so many of you saw so much in him. I'm just bumping this to give James parents my condolences and clear up any confusion my last comment from my posted above may have created.

Want to apologize if that created any problems and James's family all the best. He was only 5 years younger than I and would have had a bright future in what ever he did.

Our committee would like to everyone to know how intelligent James Bodell was. He contributed a lot of time and expertise to the Joseph James campaign and we will never forget the great experiences we had over the last six months. Joseph James would also like to add that at James Bodells funeral his father informed everyone that he had received phone calls from Dino Rossi and John McCain regarding their appreciation for James's service. We will always remember him and we have dozens of pictures from campaign events.
