Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu has pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence.

KIRKLAND, Wash. —

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu has pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence.

After his plea Monday, Tatupu was sentenced by Kirkland Municipal Court Judge Michael Lambo to serve one day in jail and pay fines totaling $1,255.

Tatupu was arrested May 10 in Kirkland after he was pulled over for speeding and driving erratically.

At the police station two hours later, Tatupu registered 0.155 and 0.158 in breath test readings, nearly twice the state intoxication threshold of 0.08.

On March 25, the Seahawks had signed the third-year, 25-year-old Tatupu to a $42 million, six-year contract extension.


Lofa needs to watch that crap if he's going to finish in Seattle on a high note...

I give him credit for pleading guilty when he was instead of going out, saying he wasn't when there was good chance he was guilty and Showboating himself out in a trial to later be found guilty.

Shows he took his lumps for a stupid act and looking to correct the situation. Seems worthy enough to give him another chance as both a player and as a gentlemen.

All of us human being make mistakes but its the people that own up to them, plead guilty, take their lumps and move forward in society that should show what a decent but working on honorable man is.
