The Fort Vancouver Regional Library District is presenting and discussing plans for the 90,000-square-foot, $34 million Vancouver Community Library, on which construction may begin later this year at C Street and Evergreen Boulevard, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the current community library at 1007 E Evergreen Boulevard.

Financing for the new library was created by a voter-approved bond issue in September 2006. Project architects Miller Hull Partnership, Seattle, will present plans and will accept questions and comments.

The multi-story building will offer below-ground parking.

The new library is part of the Killian Pacific Riverwest development south of Evergreen Boulevard and west of the I-5 freeway. Killian Pacific donated the property to the library district.

And we still don't know who that mystery $5 Million donor was...

Good to see the library is finally going to get built and done. I'll be watching with interest on this property.
