Clark County commissioners are considering issuing $41 million in county-backed bonds to pay for road improvements at the county fair, Battle Ground I-5 exit at NE 179th Street. No public vote is required for the bond issue since the bonds do not require new taxes.

The county funding would be combined with additional state financing at the interstate exchange.

Commissioners have called for a public hearing on the proposal at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24.

I sure would like to hear from some of the County Commissioner Candidates on this one...

While flying up the road past 179th interchange, several things came to my mind about this interchange.

Will this improvement help not just Battle Ground and other North Clark County residents who want a faster connection to Seattle and Portland but others?

And will there be some land set aside or around this interchange to encourage new business growth right around this interchange? Not going to say what or who should build there.. But any improvements along that corridor could have multiple financial and economic benefits, no?

I assure you that I am the last person that anyone wants on City Council. I'm pushed to profanity just watching the "Citizens Communications" on CVTV, and I don't trust myself not to swear at Larry Patella the fiftieth or sixtieth time he showed up to berate me for not being among his merry Band of Brothers...

:p

No chance...

If you and I won't run than I guess its just back to our attendance and discussions with all involved in Clark County politics will be what has to suffice for now.

I know its lovely that Clark County will be building a new interchange for the Battle Ground Speeders and new heavy industrial plus casino that is moving up into that area of forested land right next to I-5.

Wonder how long after the interchange is up there will be 7-11 and AM/PM mini-markets?
