Vancouver City Council member Jeanne Harris, a Democrat, filed Thursday for the Clark County commissioner seat held by Republican Marc Boldt.
Harris, owner of the Harris Insurance Group, was appointed to the council in January 1996 and elected to her first full term in 1997. She won her third term on the seven-member council in 2005.
This is Harris’ second run for county commissioner. She ran against Boldt in 2004, losing with 47 percent of the vote. Harris also ran for state representative in the 17th
Legislative District in 2001, losing to Rep. Jim Dunn with 45 percent of the vote.
Boldt, a former state representative, is seeking a second term representing District 2. Martyn D. Butler, who stated no party preference, also has filed for the seat.
