Nice, SMALL campaign video! :-) Hope to see it soon on television or radio.

He doesn't need TV or Radio if he has the internet to use. Do you know how much it costs for a thirty second political add on the radio?? On the TV?? It's enough to eat up all of one's warchest pretty quickly on an out of state media source.

I think he'll get more views of his add via the internet, than he will on Portland TV or radio...

Smart move on James' part...

<admits with a sigh stupid comment..>

Yeah, did not really think that through too much.

Most of his voters are not going to watch television waiting for a campaign from our side of the river to show up. Most of the campaign fodder and negative campaining is usually from the Portland side of the river.. For obvious reasons, its the states biggest city and highest gross revenue area, so those television and radio ads would hit better than the smaller Vancouver market.

We have a smaller television and radio market that no one will specifically offer or cater to us, so its probably best that JJ uses Youtube and just embed the video on his site. I'll give him credit, he'll help change the local political scene that finally saw websites with Steve Stuart about a year or so ago that were a little dynamic than just a one page statement of text and just slapped together.

So lets see what he can come up with.

I'll add that Vanessa's site is really nice as well.. But it does not have any video elements on it. Looks very nice whom ever put it together.

I'd encourage some of these other candidates to try the "video essay" route. Brad Lothspeich is an impressive speaker, and he would do very well on one of these YouTube type videos.

Candidates, if you are not sure how to make these video essays, ask one of your kids how to do it...they can probably produce it for you on a camera phone in 15 minutes or less...

I love digital technology...

Camera Cell Phone? ROFL..

Now why did I not think of that idea... :-) Camera phone in hand, you can catch ANY politician-in-view..

And I bet a lot of them do have camera phones, the kids sends it to them via an email and web posts/myspace account?

How hard is it? Take your kid out to dinner and ask?

(Chief that's TOO easy..)

My daughter takes movies on her camera phone all the time, and they are good enough quality to post on the internet. My point is that these candidates don't have to hire a studio to produce a YouTube video essay. That saves them the trouble of begging for money endlessly, and wasting it on nothing but campaign signs and ads/interviews in the columbian...

Making technology work for you...

<Now stop allowing me to snip and borrowing your content... :->

Saving money for campaign and ads/interview in the local paper? shh, I don't think the local paper needs new ideas like THIS one..
