I am very pleased to Welcme Representative Jim Moeller to Clarkblog.org.

Part of our mission here is to elevate the tone of the Political dialog here in Vancouver. Part of that mission is going to be accoplished by listening to and engaging in civilized conversation with our Elected Representatives. It is vital that we clearly communicate our concerns and ideas, and find out how we can work together to solve the many problems we face here in the County, and in the State.

Many of the problems we see have solutions in the Washington Constitution. The proper way to amend faulty State Laws, and Regulations, is through the State Legislature. Honest and civilized debate is always a good thing.

I will remind everyone that the rules of conduct at Clarkblog do not permit personal attacks, and we will not go there. Reasonable people can debate issues, and even vehemently disagree, but remain reasonable people. Let's keep that sintiment in mind as we welcome Representative Moeller to Clarkblog.org

Here is how we intend to proceed.

I believe that Clarkblog.org is fortunate to have any Legislator agree to work us into their schedule, and we owe it to them to provide an orderly way for them to entertain reasoned dialog with their constituents.

Louis is setting up a new Catagory for me called "Ask a Legislator". That is where we will post questions for our Representatives to comment on and (hopefully) answer. Again, one question at a time. If you post a manifesto, I will lock the thread.

The way this will work, is we will pose single questions in single topics. Once your question is posted, we will allow a reasonable length of time, several days if neccessary, for a response. Let's keep in mind that we do not elect out representatives to sit on the computer and be at our beck and call here, while neglecting the job we sent them to perform. For now the floor is open to post questions, and I won't limit the number from any one source at this time. If we have a "hijacking" problem, I will address it then.

This is an opportunity to begin to change the Political tone in our discussions. I simply will not tolerate incivility, personal attacks, or imappropriate behavior of any kind. This site is for reasonable debate. Reasonable people can debate, and vehemently disagree with one another, yet remain resaonable people.

Stay tuned for further developments.
