OK, Gems and Jaw Breakers, its time for us as a community to stand up and be heard on the issue related to the Columbia River Crossing Project, Light Rail and Boise Cascade Development.

Chief, I and many other long time contributors have posted our views on the subject and have made long lists of we think backed up with our research and commentary over the past two years.

The DEIS is now officially out, Gramor is starting to develop its vision for a Downtown Vancouver community area with Light Rail, possibly a street car and 100's of millions of Dollars of development that is going to have to be placed there.

There is also little being heard about the redevelopment of Fourth Plain Corridor in Central Vancouver with Fred Meyer leaving for greener pastures to the south along Highway 14. What do you think the vision should be for this area?

Southern Orchards or along Saint Johns Blvd and 63rd street will probably be the City of Vancouver next annexation possibilities???

Columbia Tech Center between 192nd and 164th in a former mining pit that is working to be finished and built out over the next ten years or so with retail, housing and many other things.

There are also some former mining pits to the Northwest area that the City of Vancouver is looking to annex or reuse in the coming years.

As you can see there is breathe of community pride, issues and thoughts? Yet, I don't see many comments from regulars or community members taking specific interests in these areas. Though there are business interests that are doing their best to do outreach here and there is very little attention given to them.

Yeah, Light Rail and Boise get a lot of hell/commentary?? But I can bet all of the above listed areas are worth double or triple amounts of investment and far greater returns to this community.

So I am asking our regulars, who know who they are to please step back for about a week or possibly two to see what others have to say on the subject. There are other threads in other forums for the regulars to post their diatribes, quibbles or long threads of research.

This is more of a political thread so that I and others in Vancouver and Clark County can find out what you all really think. I'd like to see some of our more or less lurkers come out of wood work and post. If you have any ideas that are outside of the City of Vancouver, go ahead and post.

This thread isn't totally directed against any nonarea specifically. But please tell us what you think?

I do want to make sure that any one who posts here at Clarkblog does realize that the City of Portland, City of Vancouver, Clark County and small cities here, WashDOT, ODOT, Port of Vancouver, Port of Portland (with port operations and PDX) CREDC and many other political and business groups read our forums here.

They're interested in what you think and have to say on any subject related to the domains they cover. So its not this thread but you have some thing more to say, please feel free to start another thread and comment. As long as there is no commercial tie to it (Thanks Louis for the reminder.)

All of us community members would love to read it.

I'm am one of the lucky few in this community who can dedicate the time and talents to dig up golden nuggets and rotten apples of the subjects. But I rarely hear from community members on subjects. So I have to continually farm and fan out talk to people. (No, I am not a politician... :-)

Clarkblog is here to help provide you with a forum, so if you know of some one or a subject isn't being covered in this thread or others, please post away..

I just wanted to add that we have a long list of candidates for or from various offices that are watching our board as well.

So if you questions about a Clark County subject, please post away so they know your concerns and ideas.
