On 05/06/2008 at about 0837 hours, Vancouver resident Lucas Harding Smith, a white male adult, twenty six years of age, contacted patrol officers at the Vancouver Police Department East Precinct. Lucas Smith was interviewed by detectives in the Major Crimes Unit and was subsequently arrested and charged with the April 28th and May 5th robbery of the Peoples Community Credit Union located on 16211 SE 12th Street. It is believed the perpetrator of these crimes acted alone.
Members of the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation of these robbery cases.
The Vancouver Police Department wishes to thank the local media for their comprehensive and timely coverage of these robberies and the many individuals that called in and provided information on the Vancouver Police TIP line.
