Go out shopping for a small bottle of a high-quality Balsamic Vinegar, and try a little of that as well.

Balsamics are incredibly complex in their flavor, and can be prohibitively expensive to purchase in a large size. It's also difficult to find one of high quality at the local Safeway. The place to check is at a gourmet friendly grocery, like Zupans or a World Market, and look for a four ounce bottle of a good quality imported Balsamic. You should plan on spending between $35 and $50 for a small bottle like that, but you will use it sparingly, and it is absolutely worth the expense.
