From a new East Vancouver blog, "Chkalov Times"

With bond season right around the corner, it's a good time to take a look at the salaries of the Evergreen School District's administrators.

Superintendent
$176,112 + $20,261 + $30,241 in Benefits

Deputy Superintendent
$121,468 + $18,264 in Benefits

Technology Director
$78,884 + $18,523 in Benefits

Asst. Dir. Career & Tech.
$76,107 + $18,199 in Benefits

**SCHNIPP**

With those kinds of numbers, no wonder they are asking for a quarter-billion dollar bond measure!

IS there any other numbers from Industry or other school districts that might justify those costs or salaries?

It seems to me that there is considerable "Regime Building" going on, and the taxpayers are footing a considerable bill for all of this.

Consider that Washington DC spends the most money per pupil of any locality in the United States, has consistently done so for decades, and has consistently had the worst performance of any School Distrcit in the United States.

It's not like we aren't already throwing any money at the Schools out here, but a quarter-billion dollar bond issue is hard to swallow in one big gulp.

I'd really like to hear some discussion about this...

I'll agree further with you on this.. Would love to hear more of our local Cascadians that are members of the Evergreen School district think of it.

I'd say that Vancouver School District problably floats similar bonds and maintenance levies like Evergreen does.
