Hey Chief, don't ya think this is the way the Columbian has selected to dig at ya?? I thought they had a 30 day timing?

I have no doubt it's been thirty days since the last one, probably to the day.

It's outrageous, sesationalist bullshit like this that sells newspapers, which is why they choose to print things like that.

I wonder what all of the people who signed that IDDL Petition and gave him their e-mail address think now? There were a lot of Democrats who signed that petition, and I wonder how they like it now that they are seeing Patella's true colors...

By the way, this is what he really wrote to them...

February 25th, 2008

Are the Local, State, and Federal Tax and Spend Crowds using phony Global Warming Scare Tactics to dig deeper into our pockets and destroy our economy.

Or as stated in Today's Columbian article by Kathie Durbin, is the local plan for less driving, more compact housing and greater use of mass transit Social Engineering at Best.

Don't let these Liberal Socialistic Rascals (most of whom are Democrats) use their Phony Global Warming Message to Gain More Control of Your Life, Force you into a Living Style that is not your choice or Increase Auto, Gasoline, Sales, Road Tolls, Toll Bridge or any Other Damn Tax or Fee they can think of.

Let your local Mayor, Council Member, County Commissioner, Governor, State Representative, or Federal Legislator know that Climate Change is inevitable and that our taxes are already too damn high and they need to learn how to prioritize their spending.

Please read the "Gore Went Nuts When He Read This" article below.

That's the last one he clearly marked as a Letter to the Editor, but in fact, every time he sends something out, he copies most of the staff on the columbian, so they have a wide range of his inflammatory BS to choose from.

The one you marked karma is still wrong, because none of the tax money the Port gets goes for payroll or benefits of any kind. None. I think the columbian's fact checker might have looked that one over and decided they need to take a break from letting Patella comment on the Port so much.

I wonder if they pay him a retainer in return for what amounts to a monthly mini-column??...Patella is still the most frequently published letter writher the columbian has.

On the other hand, Larry Patella represents the bedrock base of the columbian's most loyal subscribers, so I guess it's only fair that they publish his rants so often...

"...On the other hand, Larry Patella represents the bedrock base of the columbian's most loyal subscribers, so I guess it's only fair that they publish his rants so often..."

:-) Loves this quote..

Sorry but I'll still read other news from outside the region.. Its more interesting, informative and has MORE impact than the local daily columns of this fellow OR local paper.

After Meeting Ms. or Mrs. Turlay, I'll just ignore the whole lot of 'em.. May be they should come along with and see some of the states in the US are doing with a whole heck of a lot less than Washington state has.

Any one have any examples of this?

My point is they are not following the rules that they set up and to be truthful I don't read his BS as it's not news to me, just another agenda? It's like all those side line reporters they had a few years ago to see their papers with their agendas. I'll tell you once you sit on the Columbian's Advisory Board a while you get the real picture of what they are about!

I second the applause and rapture of Chief's immediate and latter comment...

Now what could be Karma's agenda?

Bumping...

This is the Letter to the Editor from Patella that the columbian published on March 3, 2008.

I know I'm getting old, but it has not been 30 days since this little gem graced the Opinion page at the daily rag, so how is it that only 5 days later, Patella gets another one of his rants published??

The columbian is violating it's own policy for their favorite letter writer, and in fact they are providing him with Editorial services to translate his rant into what the columbian thinks it ought to say.

If I were Patella, I'd raise hell about how they twisted his words until they actually meant something...

Duh! Isn't this what I stated they coming in sooner that the policy of 30 days? Hey Columbian why don't you just give him, his own space like you used to do? I'm sure it will sell papers for ya?
