OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Washington state House has passed a bill to create domestic partnerships for same-sex couples.
The measure now goes to Governor Chris Gregoire, who is expected to sign it into law.
The bill passed the Senate last month, and won approval today in the House on a 63-to-35 vote.
Supporters say the measure is needed to provide equality for same-sex couples.
