What are we missing??

I thought it might be a high time to ask the above subject? What are we missing in Clark County or in the City of Vancouver.

All I ask is please do not include all of the political wrangling and commentary that's from previous threads or subjects. I'd like to see what you all think?

Their are enough threads on Light Rail, C-tran, buses and local government to push our whining on to, so lets turn this thread into some thing else?

For starters, we are missing a tax base here in the City of Vancouver to pay for all of the high-fallutin' plans the City has.

We are missing a solid majority of voters on most issues here in town. When a 35% voter turnout in a mailin election is considered a "heavy turnout", we have a problem...

A great number of people here in town are missing the ability to do even the most rudimentary critical thinking before they sound off on any given issue. I read endless letters to the editor that prove the author has no clue about what they are talking about, but it's a free country, and it damn use isn't my newspaper...

We are lacking a local Government that will listen to the people who elected them; unless it is the uber-liberals who are completely happy with the work done by guys like Craig Pridemore, Jim Moeller, Bill Fromhold, and yes, Jim Dunn. Unfortunatly the local media puts all of the attention on Dunn and gives the others a free ride.

Leadership? hmm So what do you propose to do about it you two?

I'd say I think from what I heard at Dunn's meeting, there was just an apathy and lack of knowledge about community events, history, situations AND ignorance of what was going on both in Clark County AND the City.

So we've got four sections of the City of Vancouver plus unincorporated and rural Clark County. Other than this lack of leadership, is there any thing you all would want to see?

Would that be 1.2 years Chief until you get to enjoy more and further ventures of the bent kind here in America's Vancouver..

Honestly, I'm looking for this thread some NEW ideas, not the same old whiner tot complaints. Though I do agree with you, it would be a nice if there was a cleanup, shakeup and change in several governments...
