Vancouver, WA – An open house is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, to provide information and gather public input concerning the potential for new roads in the Dollars Corner area.

Clark County Community Planning will facilitate the gathering at Fire District 11, 21609 N.E. 72nd Ave. The Washington State Department of Transportation and city of Battle Ground will also have staff present.

Project Planner Mike Mabrey said a new traffic circulation plan is necessary to serve residents and businesses affected by the widening of State Route 502. “The primary considerations are safety and access near the intersection of SR 502 and Northeast 72nd Avenue,” he said.

Circulation plans show proposed road connections and the types of roads needed to handle traffic in areas expected to develop in the future. Once adopted, these circulation plans become part of the transportation element of the county’s Comprehensive Growth Management Plan.

About the only reason they're fixing the Roads to Battle Ground is for the lower income people who can't afford to live in Vancouver can live wayyyyy out there..
\Well hope that meeting gets some attention.

I wouldn't put my toes in that polluted water!!

If it's polluted, it's because of lax enforcement about sewage disposal, perc tests, leach beds, septic tanks, etc, etc, etc....all properly permitted by the County of course...

There's only so many ways to contaminate a lake with fecal bacteria, and it takes more than some baby swimming with a dirty diaper on...

Reminds me they have been talking about fixing those failed septic systems over the past year or two I've been watching the BoCC.. Nice discussion of it also.

Will it ever be fixed? I think Karma will have some answers and questions on the subject.

Chief, don't just point your finger at those of us that have septic systems!! Yes we have one and no we aren't having any problems with ours. We are educated as to what these are and know what needs to be done if there is a problem. I'll stand by my septic system before I'll stand by some of these builder whom put in to small a pipe for their projects and expect folks around them to finish their pipe problems. Or the lines that go no where that need a regular pumping? We have developers that relied on old information that were allow to develop not using the best science that we all will pay for dearly. Then we have land that is laced with un-permitted french drains and storm water systems that have failed and not properly fixed. Experienmental storm drains that also have been proven to fail and were allowed to move forward. Then there is also the allowing of animals in creek areas, the lack of treatment for some areas on their storm water and the list goes on. I see some folks need a serious less on storm water and how it relates to the streams and rivers of our community?

As I recall karma, for the past several years, every time they close Battle Ground Lake, it's because of fecal bacteria that is certainly coming from somewhere. Poorly maintained and/or badly installed septic tanks are the most liket culprit, but it can be very difficult to track down the individual source.

Chief,

Thanks is why Clark County just implemented a new Septic System regime? Wasn't there a long hearings process about this just after the comprehensive master plan effort?

That could be, but I'm not sure. We're on City sewer here so we've not been privy to any of that information, and it's not something I've followed closely.

Guess I'm following more of Karma's specialty since the City really bores me with their minuscule attempts at hiding the obvious. Clark County is more of an interesting dynamic and threads.. :-) Hey I've seen more interesting topics at the County level than 1/10 of a drawn City Council meeting.

Make me want to wonder if I'm going to meet Karma at BoCC one of these times with those infamous painted tosies..
