Mayor Royce Pollard will delve into the future during his State-of-the-City Address being presented during a program that begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Heritage Ballroom in the Hilton Vancouver Washington.
Advance information suggests that the speech will cover bi-state transportation, development of the Boise Cascade waterfront mixed-use project, and children.
Admission is $5, and advance registration is required. For further information, call 696-8200.
Mark your calander. One of us might want to attend this, just so that someone can compare notes with what the local rag reports on this, to see what they leave out and/or spin. Might be worth the five bucks just to make sure Jeff Mize doesn't miss anything...

Last year the Mayor posted his notes on the website.. Wonder if he will do this again?

Probably.
I look for this speech to be a bit more grounded in reality than Hizzhonor was last year this time. I think the stark fiscal realities are hitting home, and I believe that will temper the Mayor's remarks....at least I hope so...

To Karma, yeah, your not a city resident just yet..
To Chief, Has that stopped the mayor from Dreaming out loud? And finding ways to get what he thinks this city needs for the future?
Hasn't stopped him yet..

Maybe he should hold this meeting on his bridge to no where?

Honestly, I would like to hear what he has to say. Even though I don't agree with him or where he thinks this city should dump money into.
I'll give him the respect he's due for being the Mayor but I think there is going to be people lining up there ducks against any thing he's going to be proposing for future.

So are you saying he is a lame duck? You know where he is going to dump money and where the neglect is? Got to love seeing him on his bike! LOL

Karma, he's my elected official.. Though I do think he's a pipe organist for his own City of Vancovuer ideas. He still deserves some respect, though I don't agree with him or some of the downtown Vancouver building..
So will he be a lame duck? Really don't know. I have to be at a very important, can't miss appointment at the very time he will be giving this speech. Won't be able to attend it but hoping to watch it on cvtv the next day.

I respect him as long as he stand in front of me? But ya know he doesn't respect one back? I see the Sunday rag is where the money is going to be dumped and we know all the others that is going to be neglected. Dead horse comes to mind, why waste when they don't have the big picture. Again history comes into play here.

Yeah, after I read Chief's little piece and the Sunday had another nice snow job right on the front cover, I have been wondering aloud about a lot of things.
Better get back to other posts, since I really don't have much more to say.
