I was out digging up some Hostas that weren't doing so well in the yard, I might add a high end of the yard. Low and behold the key was the high water table that was found just a few inches below the surface. Those poor babies were drowning in to much water and were moved to a drier spot in the yard. See density is showing it's ugly head!

Well hell Karma, if there's that much water perhaps we should form a bottled water company?

Funny you should mention this, because I have been doing some sketching about finding a way to tap the high water table here, and hook it into my sprinklers. I want to divert as much storm water as I can back into my grass to cut down my water bill, since the City's rates are horrible, and they assess you for sewer on the amount of water you use.
I'm thinking a relatively shallow cistern with a small pump in it could provide a significant amount of water for my lawn and flowers, free except for the electricity to run the pumps....
It's possible, but a matter of how much work I want to put into it....
And yah, get those poor hostas to higher ground!!

Ya want a couple rain barrels for roof drains? I've really been seriously thinking that a fundraiser would work for my needs here at karma park of selling Felida Holly water right out of the tap of the rain barrels! No pump needed just turn the spigot! See I'm trying to do my best for the stormwater runoff!! Hostas are now sitting above ground so they will dry out some.
