The topic of the Lincoln Neighborhood Association meeting last night wasn't LRT, but there was a few hints at the elephant in the room.

The Save our Queen group was there handing out buttons and ice cream. They contend that LRT up both Broadway and Main will be too much for Dairy Queen to endure and will close the store. LRT up one or the other is likely to be too much and also lead to closure.

Fliers were also handed out for a neighborhood sponsored forum on LRT, February 20th, 7pm at the Water Resources Center.

There was also a map floating around of the latest plans for LRT, if it were to go north and south on Broadway alone. The plan showed the latest Park and Ride plan, which is apparently 900 spaces in a surface lot.

We're coming down in size, but it's getting uglier and uglier as it does.

We're down to a parking lot with 900 spaces eh?

At what point does the Law of Diminishing returns kick in on this?? If this is all the better that can be done, then it really is time to walk away from light rail all together.

Let's just build the damned bridge!

Heck let's just pass the ice cream, putting LR up main street will kill the Port and the City of Vancouver!! Let's look at the big picture of this white elephant that they think is a cash cow!! I will still state that the City of Couv will kill all hopes of turn this place around if this goes in. There are environmental concerns and no one is looking what is up under the soils!! The Port will be lost and no transportation as in trucking will be able to get out of that area. The City of Couv just wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on the Mill Pain extension. Light Rail will divide that area and ya know bring crime!! How are you going to get folks into the area when you take the buses out?? Whom is doing to drive and find a parking spot down there when right now there is no parking? I hate feeding the Mayor's habits when I have to go into the City and will park blocks away so I don't!! Lincoln will not survive if this gets shoved down our throats. Besides LR is past it's prime and not the mode of transportation of the future!! Just like that bridge to no where??

Chief, I think we HAVE A WINNNER!

Karma wants to be the first one on the train to nowhere.. And she want to ride it right from her home in Felida and on to Downtown Portland, so she can attend the Symphony and other fine downtown attires. And when she's tired, she'll ride Light Rail home and go to bed sound asleep!

Now I know Karma's going to bed tonight dreaming of the next time she will be commenting n the subject tomorrow on her tongue in cheek right of her life on that 1970's show, "To get a Portland Lifestyle..."

(Please duly note this is a tonguencheek.)
