VANCOUVER, Wash. –IMS Electronics Recycling, a tenant at the Port of Vancouver, is hosting a Saturday collection event at its facility (2401 St. Francis Lane, Vancouver).

The event is set for Saturday, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., where IMS Electronics Recycling will be accepting all electronics. This includes computers, computer monitors, TV sets, laptops, printers, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, game systems, fax machines, copiers, network equipment, speakers, LCD and plasma displays, and cables.

Other appliances, lamps, chemicals and hazardous waste are not accepted.

A small fee will be charged for TVs ($10), and computer monitors ($5). Only cash or check will be accepted for payments.

In Vancouver, IMS Electronics Recycling performs testing functions, and refurbishes usable materials, separates metals from plastic, and removes leaded glass from CRT devices and batteries and toner cartridges. Materials are shear-shredded and an automated process separates plastic from metals in shredder materials.

The company works with non-profits, municipalities and other businesses to provide solutions for end-of-life electronics refurbishing and data shredding services as well as recycling. The mission of IMS Electronics Recycling is to keep e-waste out of the community’s landfills, and return the materials to productive use.

Now here is my question for IMS (they are based out of California..)

Where does all of their shredded items go after this process has been done?
