What a waste of paper because these are not being enforced!! Many of you know of the fence problems we have been dealing with here. It is my understanding that since I live in an older subdivision and not in the one that the CC&R are being violated in I have no rights to get my neighbor to abide by theirs!! Yep, all the work that we did as as an existing subdivision to get them to put in 'Privacy Fences' is a waste of time if these can't be enforced. So folks in the older neighborhoods wake up, smell the coffee, you have no rights!! Those Management Companies aren't doing what they are paid to do either!!

Honestly, I can't say as I would want management companies to have anything to do with my house. That's part of the reason I'm in an older neighborhood.
Is this about the view hole cut in the fence? Can't you just build your own fence to block the view?

Tefen.. Nah.. this is the same story she reported starting about a year ago where her neighbor put in a fence illegally and the cement crossed into her property line along with a whole litany of other things..
This must be a little bit of new news, that her subdivision is a older one without all of the CC&R's that I currently live under as a renter.. Pretty much Karma just needs to move over here to Cascade Park with the rest of the interesting brood that I just met a week ago.. she might just fit in and can find a nice neighborhood with nice neighbors that chime to her same tune...
Welcome Back Karma! :-) Nice to see your old self with the same ways and means..

I avoid Neighborhoods with conditions and restrictions like the plague because I sure don't want some committee deciding what color of flowers are appropriate in my yeard.
That said, there's a woman four blocks down from me who painted her house Easter-egg pink...

If this is about a fence (or the concrete holding it up) crossing into her yard, then I would think that's more of a county thing than CC&R.
Personally, I would just chisel off the offending concrete, or throw some dirt over it and forget about it.
The fence has to be held up by something, and it's almost as bad to push the fence six-inches into the neighbor's property to keep the concrete out of yours as it is for them to build it six inches into your property.

tefen, I live in an older Neighborhood that had chainlink fences put in and we have caught this peeper many times looking our way. Matter of fact they didn't want to put a fence up and their words were they love sitting in their yard and looking at ours. Plus they wanted more yard!! Let's just say DH and the County aren't going to like what I put up next if I have to block their view!! Remember I don't have CC&Rs here and can do trashy!! ; ) Right now I have mud buckets that block some of the view besides the PVC slats in my chainlink fence. I have windows on the west side of the house so they really have a nice view! Their CC&R require a privacy fence so what can one say they are in voilation of this but I can't do anything? Matter of fact they didn't know they even had CC&R and we have been lied to many times? This has now been going on over a year, with no one wanting to set up so it's headed to Superior Court!! Anyone want to contribute to the legal fund? This is a clear case of them being outside their legal monuments of their property!! Don't ask me what a monument is if you don't know and there is no permit process at the County to insure your neighbor stays in their boundaries, why??
Waterbuffalo, not back as I have several projects that are keeping me so busy, sorry!! I just needed a break and haven't been here for a while. Website is taking up to much time.
If I move it will be out of OZ and I don't forsee this happening as I'd have to dig up $20,000 of landscape to go with me? Beside you all out there don't offer larger lots and I'm afraid my painting colors would not hold up out there in east County?? Let's just say the last time I got this pissed off, my house got painted with Graffiti!! Ya know there is nothing they could do since I live in an old neighborhood! : 0
Chief, what is wrong with Pink? Ya don't want to come visit if you don't like that color!!

tefen, the guys that came out to survey couldn't put our property flag out due to their fence wouldn't allow it to be put in the proper place. They think the pipe is our monument and it's not, it's just a pipe that was used to place the retaining wall in 1984. These folks have exposed the pipe, the pipe that holds the chainlink and the end of the wall to put their pole in. They are clearly outside their momument and the County has nothing on the books. They tell you, one needs a fence but nothing other than that, why??? They don't enforce the CC&R and as I stated, I don't live in this Neighborhood so I can't get the Homeowner Assn. to enforce it either. So what good is it to have a Homeowner Assn? Also how doesn't one know whom to contact?

Chief loves to live next door to code pink? :-)
To karma, 20k of landscaping.. Sheesh... I'd love to have that much just to show off and have more fun. Sorry I can't contribute to the legal fund but my prayers are with you in your legal fight.
Do you need assistance or ideas from us on what to put up next? :-) Chief's idea of plastic buckets full of sand and silt might be a great idea again and can be used as planters to block said neighbors view?
May be you might want to paint a few of them an attractive color to remind them?
Guess I am not sure what to suggest next.
Just to let you know Karma, I'm on the move as soon as the place I am staying in is sold. Tefen and Chief all ready know this.. Not sure where I am going, probably going to move in temporarily with current room mate into an apartment..
Just hope I don't get stuck next to a wife beater or drug analyst (aka pusher or user.) Oh well, nothing is more fun than living in a multi-plex apartment subdivision, Right?

See Chief I do listen and those buckets make for a nice blocker but I'm needing as you can see something more for the height to block their view!! So how bad is the pink? ; )
Buff, it has been discribed here as heaven between hell as one person took a look at my neighbors' yards. All I could say is if they would take half the time in either sitting and watching me work or harrassing me their yards would look a lot better but we all know about neighbors that should live in apt. instead of houses that they neglect! Off to get the rest of the seeds in the greenhouse and start raking up the pine needles, I know of a path between the fences that need some weed control. Have all my trees trimmed and need to treat the irises yet before the next rain.

Love the new pink attraction Karma! :-0 Is that going to be for the landscape artistes new desire to come over for free drive bys and viewings? Now what would happen if Clark County decided to charge admission to your little finesse? :-)
May be they call it Pot-o-pour-i?
Since I have lived in many different types of housing, I do agree with you Karma. There are people who should just live in Condo. Associations/CCR or apartments, where people are paid to take care of things. But with that comes another kind of Hell, we won't speak of. aka conformity....
But in America, every person has a privilege to live as they want as long as its not TRULY harming someone else. A yard with weeds IMO doesn't qualify for that.

Buff, my garage door has been that color for several years now and I threaten to paint the fence that color but opted to do the inside walls instead. Got to keep peace in the family?
Heck the kid's flashy red convertible looks great against that mauve door! :)
Heck I'm ready to start charging the County for all the street cleaning I do out here, again today I was out blowing the crap out of the street. Got the yard mowed and sprayed before the rain came. The tulips were up enought to treat the irises so I'll have to wait for the next dry day. Heck come on out I could use a extra hand, it's time to strip the leaves off the trees again!! See I need a job??
Waterbuffalo

You need a job? :-) I'll make that a second myself.
Looking for a part-time job myself to keep myself busy. No it won't be a burger flipper at Burgerville or throwing Sillicon Disc frisbees at co-workers at SEH, probably be in some lonely office doing dictation, data entry or some other awful and suspicious, complex idealism in a realm of sit down drudgery.
Though I might be interested in telesales/inbound phone work.. That would mean I could call Karma up and ask her if she needs new siding or windows! :-D (obviously just a joke!)

Buff, ya better check that no call list!! Besides I have caller ID and if I don't know whom it is the answering machine gets the honors!! My problem is I'm over qualified to flip burgers, they don't tend to take us old folks.

shhh.. :-) Orchards McD's would!
Whether you get some or not, every thing will work out in the end. I know because I'm looking for work as well...
Now back to the HOA discussion, my local HOA is having a meeting in about a week and DARN things have changed since last summer. There is a lot of cleaned up areas, kids toys are not all over the shared common areas and the place is cleaned up. There is no broken down cars, cars that are being fixed up by the neighborhood mechanic who finally moved away. (YES!)
No more people parking in front of the Fire hydrant, most of the fences are fixed FINALLY!
Talking about assessing a new special fee to cover the painting of all of the HOA community. This place is looking more wonderful by the second. Too bad the condo. I am staying is tied up and has to be sold, or I would continue to live here!
A year ago, my place looked like Karma's. Neighbors who didn't care, trash all over, cars parked in illegal ways, kids running around (not to mention the two sex offenders parked aka living right outside our entrance of our HOA.) The lawns were never mowed, tree branches and bushes that were ramming into my head as I walked into the sidewalk. The cars were parked into the driveways but blocked access to the sidewalk as the cars were parked right on it.
:-) Not as bad as Karma's peeping tom neighbors but it sure does look a whole lot nicer..
