The following pages are scanned from the 1911 Edition of the Washington State University yearbook (Pullman, WA) Chinook...

This is a group picture from that Yearbook, of the Veterinary Medical Society members for that year. The fellow that is standing in the sceond row, left of center, seventh as you count fromt he Left is Dr. Wyatt E. Ralston.

This scan is the Pharmacy Faculty page and it gives Dr. Ralston's bonefids as being a graduate of Ohio State University, and that he is a "Professor of Physiology and Bacteriology" at Washington State University.

What's interesting about this fellow is that he happens to be my Great Grandfather. He met my Great Grandmother, Grace Tarbutton while she was at school here, and they married and moved back East to be near her people in Lima, Ohio.

They had two children, My Grandmother Gwen, and my Uncle Elgin, who went on to be Chief of Police in Lima later in life.

My grandmother came back out to Washington to attend WSU, where she met my Grandfather, and they ended up marrying and eventually moving back to NE Ohio where my Grandfather's family was rooted in the Finnish community .

My Aunt has been researching the family Geneology for years now, and sends me these fascinating updates periodically. I've been meaning to put these up for a while now, at least since I was accused of being a "newcomer" to the State. While I personally have lived here for only a decade, my family really does have long ties to the State...

I've got some great pictures of my Great Grandparents that I may scan and put up as well...

Chief, HOW WONDERFUL! :-)

Since I come from areas in the Pacific NW (not my genelogy but IRL.) that are farming country, this would be no surprise to me. WSU is known around the world for its Veternarians and farming college. Nice to know you have some heritage related to the school.

Is there any connection between your heritage and any love for WSUV? :-)

Sorry but I DO have to ask.. In my previous town, there is a huge generational familes that root for huskies and cougars..
