Portland Police are still seeking information about a man who assaulted a TriMet bus driver early Sunday in North Portland.

According to TriMet spokeswoman Peggy LaPoint, the female driver was struck in the head and face several times by a passenger after she asked him to pay his fare. The incident took place on the No. 72 bus near the intersection of North Killingsworth and Campbell Avenue.

Police searched the area after the incident was called in, but as of Monday morning, they had not found a suspect. The driver was treated at a Portland hospital and released.

It's not just Max trains that are having problems. At least the train drivers are in a locked control cab...

There has been a resurgence of problems in that area and probably will continue to have problems.

Honestly Chief, Bus drivers in on a decent urban area are going to have these types of crimes and problems. Just give it time and it will happen?

Portland and Vancouver has its share of assaults on Political officials and employees. I just do not think its hardly ever reported as much here as it might be in other areas of the US.
