Welcome back to the new and vastly improving Clarkblog.org. We got to a certain point yesterday, and called it good. There are more adjustments to come, but as you can see we made vast progress yesterday.
I hope everyone likes the St. Helens in winter motif across the top. When Spring arrives we'll change it to a greener view.
We've added another significant module to the control panel, and as we massage the settings, things will change in ways that are subtle, and in other ways that are not so subtle...in any case I think so far it's a net-sum gain.
Welcome back aboard!

There are still a few features that are being worked on, and the final edition should be done this week...

Welcome to the new Clarkblog home page! It's done as far as I can tall, at least for now, and we think that the bugs are all worked out. Members should go ahead and enter their zip code in their userCP so that the current weather will come up for you. You'll notice I have a hot link block now, and I'm accepting suggestions (via PM only please!) of worthy candidates for inclusion on our links list.
Thanks for your patience over the past few weeks, and I think you'll agree that this was well worth the wait!

Can you tell me what a hotlink block is?

Can you tell me what a hotlink block is?
Not without some context.

Not without some context.
I thought I was asking you the question exactly for that reason.. Some substance and context of why or what it is??

OK. Let me be clear. I have no idea what you are talking about WB, and if you are reporting a problem, please be clear. There is no such thing on the home page that I am aware of, so please be clear about what it is that you want to know.
thanks!

A "hotlink" is typically when you post a picture from another website by using that website's URL for the picture. Often websites may "block" this type of access because it burns their bandwidth and devalues their intellectual property by having their content appear on other websites. In such cases, the picture will typically be replaced on the offending website by some other picture or message.
Is that what you mean? Did you try to post a picture or movie from another site and get a message about it being blocked? It's likely nothing that clarkblog can fix, the original site doesn't want you to use their material in that way.

It could be any of the above, or all.
My crystal ball is broke.

Tefen that is basically what I am asking of Chief. But the context of his previous post relates to posts about presidential candidates and their sites I think. But he said there some type of hot link protection in place. So I am not understanding what that means in terms of Clarkblog.
Here is his original post:

You will notice in his first paragraph, last sentence of it it says some thing of "You'll notice a hot link block now, and I am accepting suggestions via PM only please..."
I get the part of the accepting worthy candidates to include on the list but what I don't understand is what he means by HotLink block.
If it means what tefens says than I can quite understand what it means. But I am asking for clarification of what he's saying in that sentence...

Better explanation. Now I see what you're talking about.
The "hot link block" that I referred to can be found on the right hand side of the new homepage, under the title "Clark Blog Links". Those are hyperlinks to different resources that we use here all the time. Click on the link to get to the source...
