Is there some thing like a Road Show for new members of our community that would show off our community to new people who live here?
I know that Pat Jollota?? and several other community members used to do Historical C-tran Bus runs around the City. Is this still going on? And if not, how could one get it started?

Just wanted to germinate the idea. With City of Vancouver's past bad raps here at our hands and others along with probably a good view that all of our citizen might enjoy learning about great places in our community, why not offer a free or cheap bus tour so that people get to know what is offered here?
Now I can't complain anymore if I am not offering solutions and ideas.
Chief, you hear me now. No complaining any more until I have solutions to problems facing this community. Wouldn't this be a wonderful idea?
Why not have it for all of Clark County to show it off?
Since I don't know if this is offered or someone has all ready done it. I don't want to do the same thing over and over again.

Oh, and as far as getting started...
I would say you need to look here:
http://www.triggbussales.com/
and talk with someone at the city about getting a good, exclusive parking spot near Esther Short park with signage and everything.

ROFL... Are you asking the City to buy a few motor coaches for driving people around in luxury to toot their horns? Tefen your idea made me Rolllll.. on the floor laughing..
And getting exclusive access to the Esther Short with Signage and everything, sounds like an ICC project in the making..
Chief, I think we have a real winner of a project don't you think?

Ooppss.. :-)
This is a used bus and motor coach seller! Even better Tefen!!!!
Now Royce would be able to tout the fine arts and education training along with Archaeological facts not in evidence, "just not yet but ready to dig up?" He'd love to show off it all off??? at the Reserve?
Now we also have to get Charles Ray to do a Tree tour and survey, Pat Jollota for historical preservation and river front viewings on Kaiser Shipyards?
Now I can't leave Tim Leavitt or Jeanne Harris out of the mix can we? May be they'll offer a charity ride over to Big AL's for Y-M-C-A song and dance session with a couple rounds of Bowling? May be Tim could bring his friend Steve Stuart and his significant other along for some fun??????
Have to include Larry Smith hear at some point, he'll probably want to offer a Reunion Tour and Golf event? Jeanne Stewart is always up for Community Pride events, she might even show up for this one!
Now my only question thought is where to put Pat Campbell.. Now that's some thing I got to think up since I don't know the fellow..
<ok, kidding aside and laughter from my hallowed halls..>
Tefen had a wonderful idea.. Why not get a couple used buses, maybe rent them from Trigg and get a couple drivers from one of the local school bus drivers and pay them for there time and let's have some fun..
Hey all of these could be wonderfully attended or good Charity events????

Sorry, WB. I thought you were asking what "YOU" could do. I didn't realize you were thinking that the government should go into the tourism industry. I figured you wanted to get some busses, establish a tour, and get busy running a business.

No, tefen. The City Council thing was just a joke. :)
I'm planning on being more of a presence at the City Council meetings and yes, I might take up the idea that I presented here along with your additional comments.
Not sure how to pay for it all but i digress instead of me ranting and raving in here maybe there is some time to come up with a plan and places that could be covered.

Ok, here is a video that does include parts of vancouver and portland in it. But its a wonderful video of the Columbia River Gorge.
its about 5 minutes long. Its such wonderfully done. It is a train trip video but doesn't include any train shots but wonderful collage of the Gorge, Vancouver and Portland.
