OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City council is scheduled to decide Wednesday whether to ask voters to approve a sales tax extension to help bring the Sonics to Oklahoma.

The tax would pay for $121 million in improvements to the Ford Center arena -- a warm-up court and new locker rooms and suites.

Sonics owner Clay Bennett is planning to move the franchise to Oklahoma City because he says the Key Arena is inadequate and government officials haven't built a new arena for the team in the Seattle area.

The city is suing to force the team to play the two years remaining on its lease at Key Arena.

This plays into my personal best and most long-running tinfoil hat theory, and that is that The Trailblazers are going to be moving to Seattle as soon as the Sonics leave. I think Paul Allen would love to have his baskeball team in a new stadium near his football team...

Developing....

Just to remind myself about our theorems on the subject. Doesn't Portland have a similar style of hell agreement with City? I know that Paul lost the rose garden to creditors but I thought he had a similar requirements to stay there for a certain time period.
